Brazil: get moving!

LEADERS: "The United States and Latin America: A new start in the Americas; Barack Obama has dangled a carrot for Cuba and Venezuela. Time for Brazil and other to show a bit of stick," The Economist, 25 April 2009.

Anti-Americanism, we are reminded, "was invented in Latin America."

Basic point of editorial: Obama is covering enough of the chasm between the U.S. and Cuba/Venezuela that it's time for Brazil to act with a higher profile as a fellow great power and not just another historically aggrieved state.
