4 days until Great Powers comes out

Today's exciting Great Powers news is...

we have it for the Kindle!

Question: does anyone have one?

Interesting fact: when you pre-order for the Kindle, the title is auto-delivered on February 5th.

Remember to order GP. And thanks for anything you can do to spread the word, including buying the book!

I bought a Kindle at the first offer in December 2007. I also purchased both BFA and PNM through Amazon in hard copy when they came out. I'm more likely to want hard copy rather than the Kindle version of a book for two reasons. First, nowadays there's often not much of a price difference between the two types. Second, and most important, to date most Kindle versions of books are simply flat files with virtually no navigation features. For a novel, the flat file is no serious problem, but something substantial like GP (where one might actually like to move between text citations and the reference, for example) the absence of good navigation is a serious problem for a serious reader. If you have any control over the Kindle file structure, you might want to seriously confront your publisher on this issue. Finally, it occurs to me that the Kindle device has attracted a kind of fervor (like with all things Apple) demonstrated in a Pareto principle where 80% of Kindle sales will probably come from the 20% of acolytes. Will GP appeal to this crowd?

Best of luck with the launch of GP. It should be an interesting experience.

I have a Kindle, and I love it. But since I have Tom's other two books in hardback, I bought GP in hardback too at Amazon.

I have a Kindle, and riding to and from work on the DC metro each morning, it is easy to observe many people thoroughly absorbed in Kindle-land.

I look forward to reading Great Powers on my way into and out of work each day, on the Kindle. Cheers!

I too ordered in hardback, but also clicked on the Amazon link to "request this title in Kindle format" several times. BTW, will Tom sign my Kindle version of GP?

oh, he'll sign your Kindle, but it might make it kinda hard to read your books ;-)
