Gave away my first book copy

The one that Neil sent me (oops! I left in Neil's biz card with his message!). I had been planning to put that in the special spot atop an antique lawyers bookcase (leaded glass) along with all my other editions.

I signed it and gave it a special inscription Friday and then FEDEX'd it to a colleague, who's passing it on.

Getting more books to sign today, along with some keepers.

That reminds me: I need a cool crypticon to add with my name. Gotta think one up.

[30 mins later]

Got one.

....Lucky guy.

I'm really looking forward to this book, Mr. Barnett. I saw your TED speech a while back, and I've been following this blog ever since. I also got Blueprint for Action for Christmas, so that'll hold me over until Great Powers comes out.

As an aspiring grad student in international affairs (just turned in my apps last week), you're analysis and ideas are having a considerable effect on the mindset with which I'll be starting my studies in American foreign policy (my intended concentration).

All the best of luck to you with the new book, and thanks for all your hard work. It's really a boon to folks like me.

Crypticon? Not the horror convention, I suppose, so what?

no, Jeremy, some little visual sign he can include with his signature. last time it was '3d=[arrows around the word 'Gap' signifying 'shrink the Gap']
