You pick your fights, and then you better not bellyache.

I was talking with a young college student from Taiwan who told me he hated the Chinese. That left me scratching my head. I thought, son, where do you think you came from? China had some understandable concerns during the early years of the cold war. A pro western "government in exile" sitting off the coast was no laughing matter. But that was when China was weak. We had our own problems with Cuba and the Soviets. Tom is right...who the h___ said it was OK to sell arms to Taiwan considering our current relationship with the mainland?

Especially when the military hardware sold to Taiwan is pretty meaningless militarily ...

It's a political statement.
