Kim is begging for a showdown.

Obama should oblige, because this level of purposeful confrontation suggests how vulnerable the North Korean kleptocracy feels right now.

These are not opportunities to be wasted.

How are you defining showdown? Invasion, naval blockade, deploy more Patriot missiles, economic action? Any non-military action will only cause them to hunker down and abuse their people more while acting out with missile launches. Military action of any sort puts a 35000 US troops and a lot of Koreans lives at risk. What is the end game of that?
