Obama should discipline the Dems

ARTICLE: House Seems To Be Set on Pork-Padded Defense Bill, By R. Jeffrey Smith, Washington Post, July 30, 2009

Obama should veto the defense bill. It is a horrible example of Dem. leadership in Congress: they simply aren't herding the cats well.

Pork barreling at its best: robbing the taxpayer AND the warfighter (who will see resources gobbled up by huge platforms he does not need).

Plenty of shame to go around...

Yeah, he should definitely veto this crap bill.

But I'm starting to think there's a bigger problem here ... the liberal media. No not the media in general but the actual liberal media. In that they've done a piss poor job educating their audience re defense issues. I mean, when the F-22 died Rachel Maddow had Barney Frank on to talk about it. Not you, not Spencer Ackerman, not Eli Lake; Barney Frank ... who's commentary predictably missed every relevant point.

So porker bills like this one fail to generate constituent blowback.

Will be interesting to see what this does for the mid term elections in 2010. This is a good example of why we hate "everyone else's" legislators.

We will also see what kind of a leader Obama is when this defense bill gets put on his desk.
