The kids can come back to the nest

ARTICLE: When the Fledglings Return to the Nest, By RON LIEBER, New York Times, July 10, 2009

Years from facing any such scenario, but frankly, I don't anticipate I would be against the notion of returning home. I love having my kids around and I would like to have them around for the rest of my life. There's always the fear of some undue dependency (either way), but it's not something I would fear--per se.

I would always want them to feel like they had a total "out" of any situation, in part because I'd never want them to make life decisions feeling trapped.

Any parent that truly loves their kids feels the same...

...and hopefully you also will have the joy of grandparenting which can have additional experiences for "fledglings returning to the nest".

In these tough times families need and will support themselves. It has been the way of people since the beginning of time. It is better than expanding the welfare state making the state the "parent".

I do believe the best outcome is to raise our children to be independent, and to provide for themselves. And as a parent I would really like the ability to leave my children all the wealth that I have created.
