The possibility of Iranian disintegration

A sign of how seriously many top leaders view this crisis:

In an implicit rebuke to Iran's ruling elite, a conservative presidential candidate warned Sunday that the political and social rifts opened by the disputed June 12 vote and subsequent crackdown could lead to the nation's "disintegration" if they were not resolved soon.

Somebody of Rezai's stature doesn't speak out publicly like this unless he really does fear the government's collapse.

Might be wise for the Administration to keep Bibi on a short leash . . If Iran falls apart within, all an attack by anyone would do is solidify what is apparently coming apart.

What it might turn into is another thing and I suppose we ought to be careful about what we wish for . . But, my bet is to hold on, have a little patience and see what we end up having to deal with . .

Maybe Obama's timidity is more like "watchful waiting" . .

The lack of USA "Meddling" in the affairs of the current Iranian State suggests that we (and the MidEast needs) an intact as is Iran. Obama can't handle what he has there now. Something new would be unacceptable. The Iranian PEOPLE lose again. Disintegration would be to costly for the big guys.
