Some green sprouts in China

The usual sort of story about how dirty China is, so how incentivized it is to move on cleaner techs.

What caught my eye was the list of "Greener China Business Awards" from BW's Chinese edition: 5 Chinese companies (Broad Air Conditioning, BYD, Haier, Himin Solar, and Suntech Power), 4 US companies (3M, Wal-Mart, GE, DuPont), and one Euro (Royal Dutch Shell).

So China already claims five spots in the top ten. Admittedly, a home-game operation, but not as dominated by established Western firms as you might anticipate.

If one is patient, watching China "Transmorgrify" (old Calvin and Hobbes word) into a modern country without anything other than self provided security being pushed by a growing economy, proves that the USA doesn't have to be the wagging finger . . given time and room, China will end up OK . . My guess anyway . .
