I know. It sucks.
I keep holding out for more chaos with the global financial crisis--more radicalism. Where are my frickin' great-power wars!??!
This is truly depressing. I expected the entire planet to be in flames by now.

About four years ago, I stumbled onto an Oprah broadcast where she was interviewing Kuwaiti women, amazed by the wealth and government oil money each citizen gets. While acknowledging that these women were allowed to wear Western clothing and enjoyed certain social freedoms, Oprah asked them what good it was without even the right to vote or have certain property rights. The woman replied, 'In time! That will come in time, this is already happening so fast!' (i'm paraphrasing).
I always remembered this story when you pointed out the fact that economic freedoms usually precede political ones. Also, economic liberties have a greater affect on our day to day lives.
