Amazing: turbulence at the gate worthy of fastening your seat belt!
We had 2 Delta pilots in seats with us. It got so bad that they felt compelled to comfort passengers, asking for any injury reports.
It is so windy that even sitting on tarmac (lightning strikes), the plane is shaking.
6 hours, the most turbulence-filled 20-min flight in my life--unreal. Cincy to Indy. I thought I was going to throw my back out.
With all my miles status, paid 15$ for luggage--first time. F&£king Delta.
Sold out all 84 copies that Naval Inst had on hand to sell. Started giving out signature plates that I carry for when readers lack books.

Talk went well today. Big crowd. Only problem: laughter swallowed by larger gigantic room. Signed copies non-stop for hour following.

Finally got to see and hear you give "the Brief" yesterday at the joint warfighting conference. It was great. I agree with you, the huge room did sort of swallow up any crowd interaction. Got to speak with you at the author's table. Thanks for the autograph. Brought along a friend from work who was not that familar with you, he left very impressed, he's talking about borrowing my copies of PNM and BFA. Hope you enjoyed you visit Va Beach.
