Self-centered commissions

I disagree with the military commissions approach, because I have problems with us roaming the world, capturing terrorists and then presuming to put them on trial under our laws--in effect pulling them into our legal system under the assumption that virtually all terror planning and prep targets America.

Because it's often the case that we prosecute on that basis--intent.

And I find the self-centeredness there counterproductive in terms of creating new globally-inclusive rule sets.

Global rule sets might be the goal, but even defining the crime of terrorism, much less material support or conspiracy seems like an impossible task for diplomacy. If I remember correctly, this was why the ICC avoids the topic entirely; countries could not agree on a definition.
