Sign of the crisis: consulting firms lose business big-time, and since they're only as strong as current earnings (butts in seats), they drop with the market.

Some survive the fall, but many will not.

The major story here, being a veteran of the IT services business, is not so much that the economy went bad (it will, from time to time) but that you cannot run up a $1B debt in a services company. The only way to survive the lean times in services is to run with no debt during the good times, and hopefully with some cash-on-hand. I'm sure Enterra is doing the same thing. Uh, I hope.
