Merry Christmas

Quiet Christmas at home for the Barnetts. Very peaceful and nice.

Late last night the older among us stayed up and watched Zach Snyder's "Dawn of the Dead" in the home theater. That is one great zombie movie.

Rewatched "Michael Clayton" this afternoon after the big meal. We did roast beef, and I'm never going back to boring turkey again.

Couldn't agree more about prime rib. Turkey is Thanksgiving, but prime rib for a bunch of people is a must at Christmas...

Great music gifting in the O'Connor house this year. 50th Anniversary Brubeck Time Out, Neil Young Career Set, great new found Woody Guthrie recordings.

And saw a beautiful thing. Went to my brother's house and shared the day with his in laws as well as our family. The father in law passed this year. He had a penchant for Hawaiian style shirts with pictures of the things he loved-boats, cars, police cars, fishing, skiing. His wife took the shirts and sewed the pictures into quilts for his grandsons and daughters.

right on kilngoddess, about it all. I read the Doc in the morning with coffee, and BTW, Sean I appreciate the early AM postings that have been coming over the past few weeks. Was that a policy decision?"Sean of the Dead" is definitely kickass-- also "Hot Fuzz" a send up of cop-buddy movies, from Simon Pegg et al which I actually liked more, but it might depend on which one you see first.Happy Holiday to all the Barnetts and Meades!

Have seen Sean, and became a big Simon Pegg fan (with the whole family) of his movies (Hot Fuzz is fab, and Run Fat Boy Run is quite good). We also have his Brit TV series (very acquired taste). We were naturally excited to see him play Scotty in Star Trek.

Do have some of the Shaara and will consider.

Tom,I join those in the above posts wishing you a Merry Christmas to you and yours this holiday season. Thank you so much for your time commitment to this site. Your books, writings and commentary is very much appreciated. Since I first discovered you on C-SPAN , I've been wowed, educated, entertained and pushed to examine our world in ways I've not experienced since my college days in the Humanities courses.

Merry Christmas!

You always have great material! You are close enough to politics to tell things others will not, but you don't have to worry about representing a certain constituency, and so you don't have to fudge your words...(at least as far as I can tell!).
