This deal ain't/is happening

ARTICLE: Still No Word From Iran on Proposed Nuclear Deal, By VOA News
23 October 2009
Yes, Iran agrees to the med deal with Russia, but even there it signaled that it wasn't interested in having the French participate at the end on the rod creation. Tehran simply doesn't trust the French to follow through.
The notion that Iran is going to submit to having all its enrichment processed through UN auspices with the French as the in-charge final processor. . . that one NEVER had a chance.
Again, per the Esquire column, this was a modest give on Iran's part that signals a yearlong breather for everybody but no solid guarantees, much less gives, by Iran.
Getting jacked about this follow-on failure is a waste of time, because it adds no more information than we got from the Russian deal.
The message has been sent.
But I will confess, I am seeing so many Iran will/Iran won't stories out there, that I'm getting confused as to which deal they are describing (minimum on med stuff or maximum on all uranium), because I think the news media is reporting every raised eyebrow and flinch at this point.
So I'm not exactly sure which pieces I find credible or which ones I agree with.

I too am confused about what is going on and I'm a regular citizen, who doesn't follow this stuff like you do.
I will say if that Obama can pull off the "maximum on all uranium", meaning ALL Iran's uranium, and we can actually trust Russia, then I will give him, credit. (A tough thing for me to do.) But, we will have to see, how this goes.
My current position: stall tactic from Iran.
You could be right, but I, a Republican, am willing to give Obama a chance at talks. I don't expect much to become of them, due to Iran's position.
The question is will Obama understand that talks will not work?
