If true, the promise by Iran to run some uranium through Russia for enrichment appropriate for medical use is simply brilliant: a symbolically powerful "give" on a meaningless subject.

You've predicted Iran wanted a "Japanese"level of nuclear ambiquity and if this agreement works out then that's about where they would be, right? It will be interesting to see what role Russia played in all this and whether or not Obama's decisions on GBI in Poland was a quiet quid pro quo to get the Russians to lean on A-Jad behind the scenes.

It will still be tricky to get Iran to land on such a reasoned glidepath, because most of what decides this is internal to Iran--meaning beyond our control.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't push it though--i.e., the democracy and human rights. See no downside there.
