8 days until Great Powers comes out

The most exciting news, as you can see below, is that some copies of Great Powers have gone out from Amazon! So far we have one confirmed sighting. How about you? Has anybody else's copy come yet?

Today's GP promotion idea comes from Patrick O'Connor: start a reading group. Patrick asks:

Is anything like a study guide for reading groups available for Great Powers? And what piece of video of Tom available online might you suggest be used to introduce him?

1. No, there is currently no study guide available for GP.

BUT, our very own historyguy99, who posts over at HG's World and is a professor, is going to lead the reading of the book over here. Our plan is to read about a chapter a week, complete with posts and comments.

All that to say, if you want to lead a reading group on GP, you will probably be able to crib some stuff from our discussion here.

AND, it's just one more reason to buy the book, if you haven't already.

2. As to video, you should feel free to choose yourself from The Brief page. Almost every video linked there has something to recommend it:

+ The TED video is probably the most popular (and is nice and short).
+ The Pop!Tech video is also short.
+ The Middlebury Brief is the most recent.
+ The Johns Hopkins Brief is one of my favorites. Tom's sense of humor really comes across.

What do you think? What version of the Brief would you recommend for introducing someone to Tom and Great Powers?

Thanks for a great idea, Pat!

Received my copy of GP last Friday; Ordered on-line from B&N. Am reading now. Suggest that you devise a framework that track's BHO's actual course adjustments against GP reccomendations.

A 'student' guide would be great...
