The China price gets steeper

NEWS: "China: An Early Test For Obama; U.S. trade hawks are pressing him to get tough with Beijing over charges of steel dumping and export subsidies," by Pete Engardio, BusinessWeek, 12 January 2009.

The simple reality is, Obama is going to have to resist all the trade hawks on China.

Otherwise, we may see our attempted recovery essentially sabotaged by capitalists who simply look our for #1.

Soon the Chinese will take our advise and stop subsiding the US consumer. They will do this because the cost of supporting our trade deficit with them will keep increasing. Also many of their loans to us will be defaulting or being inflated away. All of this is going to cause the Yuan to rise versus the Dollar. Then the Chinese will have more purchasing power allowing them a larger share of the limited, global supply of commodities (and a smaller share for the US).
