Interestingly, Iran was the one big exception here (see the final map). Could the pretty liberal (in the classical sense) youth in Iran already be considered part of the modern world, even though their country and government are most definitely not?

More data supporting Barnett's assertion that the remainder of Iran's Revolution will be swallowed up by demographics. A youth bulge seeking to be part of the interconnected world won't go away, the theocratic part of the government (most of whom could see all the movies on their banned-list here in the US with a senior discount) will.
