This article and synopsis are awesome. I live in Miami and work with many people of Cuban Heritage (some that have literally ridden over on broken boats, others that escaped through Mexico).When I discussed this issue with them, they seemed just as angry at the US politicians for contuining the failed embargo as they were happy that Fidel was no longer in power. They cited the apparent lack of consistency in foreign policy (trade with Russia - then staunchly communist, but not trade with a country 90 miles from our shores???). Furthermore, they cited how the embargo was used to garner votes from pissed-off exiles.Will be interesting to see how long the political machine and keep up the votes for the embargo now that the South Florida hispanic vote is not overwhlemingly cuban. Will the political games continue?
