Maddening Blackwater article

ARTICLE: Mercenary Impulse, by Michael Walzer, The New Republic, March 12, 2008

Walzer is a maddeningly intelligent guy. I say "maddeningly" because he forces you to think from uncomfortable angles.

Great piece.

Blackwater represents the gap between "say" and "do" right now in U.S. national security policy inside the Gap. Yes, they need to tighten up their act considerably, but they will have a role and it will be sizable, because this gap will not go away any time soon. Indeed, it is likely to grow larger in coming years because the Bush Admin's seven years of high consumption of the U.S. military is likely to trigger an equally long lean period of use.

I truely believe that there are two superpowers, the other one is theworld's opinion.I think it is slowly becoming more aparent, that theneocon's and this adminstration's idiology is losing in the eyes of thepeople of the world, and their opinion is becoming 100% against thatidiology(hungtington's war of civilazation).eventhough, i think this was just an excuse to replace the cold war.world's opinion in middleeast, centeral asia, all the countries in Europe, southAmeria, and moreimportant of all, the people of USA,is making sure that thier voices are been eared loud & thier desire for change is clear. Now anybodythat don't see that gap between "say" and "do" of the people will be in for a big suprise.lets not fool ourselfs the realities are cristalclear that, that is not what the people of the world wants.you can make gap about that too,but it is a gap that becomes a blackhole &shall disapear.
