Scary business in Mumbai

Reminds us that India has long suffered these sorts of attacks, but these clearly target foreigners (UK& US).

I stayed at the Taj years back. Very nice place.

Hard to see how you harden for this level of attacks.

We have to see how this unfolds, but I would expect a strong Indian response.

India is too porous a country to be able to insulate/vaccinate itself from this ( unlike say , the ME, as in Saudia Arabia or UAE /Kuwait which have sophisticated security apparatus and smaller populations and therefore have a pathway for dealing with either option...negotiate or exterminate)Therefore ...Pakistan , which is in the same boat need to somehow accomadate or heal some grievances with these people because a harsh response only feeds this terror.Pakistan holds the North=\West frontier province which its neighbour believes should belong to it ( Afghanistan)...this is the foundation stone / space that has allowed something like the Taleban to exist.Likewise, India holds Kashmir ,a territory that its neighbour believes should belong to it (Pakistan)..this is the foundation stone /space that has allowed to Indian Jihadist to flourish.Pakistan , Afghanoistan and India are all huge multi-ethnic confections that have internal partitions that will always lend themselves to this.Ce la vie.(?)

IF India can pin this on rogue elements within the Pakistani Intelligence community, it sure feels like a replay of Sarajevo, 1914.Lots of potential bad outcomes from this "Vertical Shock" to the system.
