Nice to have two actual races

This becoming a character/values election over policy choices, I think McCain's elevation is good news for the Dems in the sense that he's not favored by many activists within his own party.
Still, having a race on both sides is actually quite nice, like my vote matters more than somebody else's dollar.

This is the first election since 1952 in which neither the sitting President nor Vice President will be one of the two choices in the general.
This is the first election since 1928 in which neither the sitting President nor Vice President have even sought nomination.
If it comes down to McCain v. Obama, this will be the first election since 1988 where the winner will not be from the Baby Boomer generation.
