Interesting to see this sort of thinking emerge on Kurdistan

I'm interested in the apparent disconnect between this article and the piece by Senator Biden, who you praised as, "being right all along." Would you agree that this article demonstrates that Senator Biden's thinking on this subject is, if not incorrect, at least a little simplistic? If security trumps sect, wouldn't the shift for the region occur as a gradual drift towards areas that offer the best opportunity for a better life instead of a straight breakdown along religious lines?
As a boiled-down template for success, a popular movement towards security while ignoring age-old rivalry is more in line with the NeoConservative viewpoint on the purpose of this war than it is with Mr. Biden's solution.
It could be that I do not fully understand Mr. Biden's position or the impact of foregoing sectarian/tribal affiliations for security. However, I think the simple solution of a tri-state Iraq is somewhat misguided. The United States defense establishment made the mistake of underestimating the power of the sect-- it would be a shame if we made the mistake of overestimating it's power, too.
