[Development/Connectivity]-in-a-Box: Ends v. means

Mark has a nice post where he picks up Tom's deliberations about Development-in-a-Box v. Connectivity-in-a-Box. As he so often does, Mark zooms out and offers some helpful meta-analyisis. One excerpt:
The difference between the two concepts comes down to ends and means. While it is true that "development" is actually a process, "Development in a Box" is a phrase that screams "Outcome!". In contrast, "connectivity" has a range of possile understandings that can indicate only the potential for future exchanges or mass migration or ongoing flows of economic and military might. Therefore, what "Connectivity" yells is "Change!".

Gracias Sean ! The link was much appreciated.
Gratuitous Self-Promotional note: I'm guest posting later next week at Beacon blog in the company of a genuine heavy-hitter that Tom will recognize from his past ;o) ( subtle clue...)
