Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 4:28PM More searching for mentions of Tom in English on the websites that carried the Washington Observer's Chinese interview.
No luck on the People's Daily Online, but I did find evidence of globalization: A picture of Zhang Ziyi (Chinese actress), who most recently starred in Memoirs of a Geisha (American film from a book about Japan) in Cannes (France).
As I click through, I see pictures of Wong Kar Wai and Michelle Yeoh, too.
Does that (R) after Wai's name mean he's from the Republic (Taiwan)?

Glad to hear the Chinese liked BFA--bet they're relieved to hear from a US policymaker that doesn't see them as a potential threat. Looked for the review on Xinhua, but no luck. Does anyone have the links to the reviews on the Chinese news sites?
I hope the R isn't Republican. The Republican Party is very divided much like the Democratic Party. Where are our moderate statemen now that we seriously need them?
R stands for Right. And he is from Hong Kong.
