India barely feeds itself now, which is a huge accomplishment given the lack of cold container networks and proper logistics and all those middlemen (who need to be disintermediated) between farm field and dinner table. This year we see drought conditions that bring that industry to its knees, which can be very destabilizing. All models on climate change say India will be adversely impacted by even more such drought conditions. What does that mean? Skyrocketing interdependency.
