Nice piece by Friedman: drilling in the U.S. is a nice effort but no game-changer (that ball will simply move too far in the decade it takes to get rolling), and focusing on Afghanistan won't be any cakewalk either. But the larger point is that the Iraq-is-all narrative is waning, and this is good. What will "victory" look like? We'll get kicked out.
