And they have some idea what they're doing

ARTICLE: U.S. Says Iran Could Expedite Nuclear Bomb, By DAVID E. SANGER, New York Times, September 9, 2009

Same old, same old.

Iran is suspected of having fast break-out routes in place, thus Israel wants us to strike on its behalf--now. Obama is said to have a delusional belief in diplomacy, or maybe he sees no reason to do Israel's bidding right now since the end result will be Iran simply redoubling its efforts. Why not let Israel make that pointless effort and suffer the consequences vice his administration? Especially since Netanyahu will do nothing vis-a-vis Palestine in the meantime?

But the key point is buried in the text: Iran has workarounds in place. They're not stupid.

I hope they are smart enough to not use them or give them to others who will use them. I'm not sure they are, because intelligence may have nothing to do with their decisions.

Will we provide an umbrella?
