Tom around the web

+ In addressing his latest book talk-through, Hugh Hewitt writes:

Last year I spent eight hours of radio time over two months with Thomas P.M. Barnett, a national security thinker with whom I did not often agree but whose book, The Pentagon's New Map, was important and informative.

Huh. Well, I didn't understand from the eight hours that Hugh didn't often agree, but there you have it.

+ Diversity, Inc linked A dream of the dream ticket?
+ The Capitol Tribune embedded the Brief (YouTube, NDU version).
+ So did Macroscopio.
+ And picked up BFA.
+ Cyberhillbilly linked Heightened immigration is a global phenomenon.
+ Left Flank says Fred Kaplan's new book sounds like PNM.
+ USA Partisan excerpted and linked last week's column.
+ The Lowy Intepreter linked it, too.

+ Macroscopio wrote about PNM (beyond that, I can't help you, because it's in Portuguese).
+ HG's WORLD linked Heightened immigration is a global phenomenon.
+ And linked Japan gets more American, around the edges.
+ Captial Commerce referred to the SysAdmin.
+ Frank Dill is reading PNM.
+ Phil Windley evoked the Core and Gap.

+ 2112 linked Wouldn't it be great...
+ Special Interest Group on CRAP linked the TED video.
+ Southern California Aquatics SCAQ Swim Club quotes Tom from memory on the future of the Beijing Olympic.
+ Doc Searls wrote that Obama should consult with Tom on our need for 'a new relationship with the rest of the world' (he sort of has already...)
+ Looney Dunes chimed in in agreement.

Satellite edition:
+ From The Hollow linked Better ground for a stupid conflict with China and America's "dangerous display of space warfare"! (quotes made up!).
+ Auspundits linked America's "dangerous display of space warfare"! (quotes made up!).

Those of us who listen to Hugh regularly know what he meant. He probably means disagree strongly on U.S. vis a vis Iran. Not disagree muchly.

I agree with you though, you didn't seem to disagree muchly over the 8 hours. And I have to say it was the best 8 hours of radio i've ever listened to.

Sounds like that book by Dionne is interesting, though.

Manny is right. Hugh sticks with Bush on Iran and I do not.

Hugh will HATE my next Esquire piece, out in the next week.
