The second book nit, found by Mike Nelson

Nelson came at me a while back about a sentence structure he didn't like, and I beat him back soundly.

Undeterred, and with an incredibly sharp eye, he spots an undeniable grammatical error on page 116, striking fear in the heart of me that he's got 300-plus pages to go!

Page 116, top para, five lines from bottom, currently reads:

... rehabilitations of German and Japan), ...

And obviously should read:

... rehabilitations of Germany and Japan), ...

Ouch, very ouch, baby.

No debate on that one. Very nice catch by Mike.

As for the rest of us proofreading clowns, including myself, it's time to get in line behind Mike.

Sean: put in the pile please.
