Summer is always a downtime for speaking, and this year was the worst in my experience. The market has simply shrunk dramatically as companies scaled back for 2009. Luckily, 2010 is already looking good for me, and the rest of this year picking up nicely.

Coming up in August then is a quartet of DoD speeches:

1) an Office of the Secretary of Defense gathering in Phoenix

2) a Transportation Command conference in St. Louis

3) then National Defense University's Industrial College of the Armed Forces (my annual appearance at the DC schoolhouse to kick off the academic year; I've spoken there to the student body every year since 2002) and

4) Marine Corps University in Quantico.
